The Carnoustie Community Café is a thriving Community Organisation in Carnoustie which supports local people to go on Local Health Walks and is an excellent social space for people to meet chat and enjoy hot food and hot drinks and have fun. The Café is a grassroots voluntary organisation and this would be an excellent time to join our team and help make a difference to so many in the community.

Many people thoroughly enjoy coming to the Carnoustie Community Café and going on the Wee Wanders Walks. They have described their Tuesday’s as fun and great social interaction and the “best day of the week”.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Café is a grassroots voluntary organisation and this would be an excellent time to join our team and help make a difference to so many in the community.

Restrictions

Experience required: The Café has a Committee but feels it might benefit from having a dedicated Secretary, which will make the running of the Café, its funding, meetings and publicity run smoother. We are looking for a confident and friendly volunteer to join our committee become involved with the Community Café. They should be fluent in IT, good communicators and good on social media. The tasks will be – · To deal with emails and social media posts · Help with funding applications · Organise regular meetings · Take minutes (about once a month) and help with publicity · Take on some administration tasks · Support the Committee · Improve the publicity for the Café · Post on Facebook, etc The Volunteer will help out like everyone else in the Cafe.
Travel details: The right candidate must be able to commit to attending committee meetings every month, help publicity and hopefully enjoy (with everyone else) the Community Café on a Tuesday. Travel expenses within reason on days of Committee Meetings, AGM’s etc.

Independent Living Service Volunteer Scottish Borders

Based from TD1 2HQ We have community led outreach volunteering opportunities throughout the Scottish Borders including but not limited to Hawick, Peebles, Eyemouth, Galashiels, Cheviot and Teviot. We are looking for volunteers who • Can commit to volunteer at least half a day per week – Monday to Friday • Are able to drive and have use of a vehicle, this is preferred if providing outreach support but not essential.
