Citizen's Advice Bureau - Denny and Dunipace are currently looking to recruit individuals who would like to contribute to their local community by joining our Board of Trustees.
They are seeking team players who have strategic vision, independent judgement, a willingness to give time and commitment to help support and develop the organisation. They are particularly interested in hearing from people with knowledge and experience in: HR, Fundraising, Digital Marketing/Communications, Governance, Climate Change, Public and/or Third Sector Organisations.
Applicants will have the experience and skills to ensure that the charity continues to develop and provide high-quality long-term services. As a Trustee, you will be required to ensure to the good governance of the organisation which will involve attendance at board meetings and an annual AGM, alongside participation in working project groups and sub committees.
As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction and governance of the organisation. Your insights, expertise, and decision-making will directly influence the overall impact and effectiveness of our work.
In return, you will have the chance to develop your skills in leadership and governance, strategic thinking, financial management and decision making.
Our Meetings are held on a Wednesday evening and still take place online over Teams due to other Trustee commitments.

Our Meetings are held on a Wednesday evening and still take place over teams meeting due to other Trustee commitments

Restrictions

Experience required: Ability to think strategically and creatively. Participate actively in discussion and decision-making processes. Balance independence of thought and contribution with participation in collective decision-making.
Travel details: The office is located at 24 Duke St, Denny FK6 6DD, although travel is not required for the role at the moment as meetings are held online.

We are currently recruiting Trustees to join our Board of Trustees. The Agnes Hunter Trust SCIO is an independent charitable trust based in Edinburgh. They offer grants to registered charities in Scotland that specifically support disabled people. With an annual grants budget of around £550,000/yr, the Trust assists charities’ service delivery and core costs, and strive towards open and trusting grant-giving practice. In order to maintain our range of relevant skills and experience at Trustee-level, they are seeking a committed individual with direct working knowledge of the third sector to join the Board. As a funder, they wish to appoint a Trustee who understands the challenges facing the charities we support – perhaps someone working as a service provider and/or an individual with direct or indirect lived experience of disability. Sound knowledge of charity governance would also be advantageous, however previous Board/ Trustee experience is not essential and we welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. Training and mentoring can be provided. The current Board of 7 members meets in Edinburgh 4-5 times per year for half-day sessions, plus other ad-hoc meetings online or in-person. The initial tenure is for 5 years, renewable for a further 3 years. The position is voluntary but reasonable expenses are reimbursed. This will be followed by an Induction session and then appointment at the next Board meeting on 30 May 2024 for the selected applicant. The Trust are open to making adjustments to the recruitment process and Board role to ensure that all abilities and individual needs can be met. The role of Trustee at Stable Life is to support the Chairperson and fellow board members in ensuring the charitable organisation, Stable Life, is managed with due diligence under the rules and conditions set by OSCR. A Trustee of Stable Life will work with other trustees, the organisation CEO, staff members and volunteers to ensure the charity is carrying out its intended purpose. As a trustee you will lead the charity and help decide how it is run, making decisions that will impact on people’s lives. As a trustee you will use your skills and experience to make a difference to the local community and wider society as a whole. Timings 2 hours per month as and when required with a minimum commitment of 1 year.
