Description

Whiteinch Centre is a community facility led by the people of Whiteinch. It provides a hub at the heart of the community making Whiteinch a vibrant place to live, work and play.

The volunteering Role:
Are you a wizard at wrangling Wi-Fi issues? A savant at software? Do you get a kick out of helping others navigate the vast, sometimes intimidating digital world? If yes, then we have the perfect cape for you to don!

We're on the lookout for enthusiastic IT Drop-In Facilitators to join our league of extraordinary volunteers. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves guiding our community members through the maze of modern technology, ensuring they emerge confident and empowered users of their digital devices.

As an IT Drop-In Facilitator, you'll be the frontline hero in our community tech space, offering one-on-one support, troubleshooting pesky PC problems, demystifying smartphones, and illuminating the internet's infinite possibilities. Whether it's setting up email accounts, understanding social media, or conquering cloud storage, your expertise will turn digital dilemmas into delightful discoveries.

The volunteering role tasks:
-Provide warm, friendly, and patient tech support to community members of all ages and abilities.
-Lead informal, fun workshops on basic IT skills - think "Internet 101" or "How to Not Accidentally Call Your Boss on Facebook Messenger."
-Create a welcoming environment where questions are encouraged, and learning is fun.
-Stay up-to-date with the latest gadgets, gizmos, and updates in the tech world (a great excuse to play with all the new toys!).

What's in it for you?

The chance to be a community champion, making a tangible difference in people's lives by bridging the digital divide.
An opportunity to flex your IT muscles and share your knowledge with others.

A creative outlet and a space to develop new skills, including teaching, communication, and leadership.
Last but not least, the chance to meet a diverse group of interesting people, all while having a ton of fun!
So, if you're ready to don your superhero cape and join our dynamic team of IT champions, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and let's make digital literacy accessible to all!
