Sandyhills Larder Assistant Wednesdays 9 am - 1 pm. We are looking for friendly faces to help us run our affordable food larder in the East end of Glasgow. No experience is necessary.

The Sandyhills Larder is a vibrant hub at the heart of the Sandyhills community. With hundreds of members and our numbers growing weekly, we're looking to expand our team of volunteers to keep up with the demand and ensure our community continues to thrive.

The Larder is a lively community space where people not only shop but also enjoy a cup of tea, a biscuit, and a chat. We're looking for volunteers to help us maintain this cheerful atmosphere and support our visitors.
No experience is necessary as we will provide training, but we do appreciate a friendly manner and a willingness to pitch in.
If you can make a cup of tea (or three!) that's always very helpful too.

Responsibilities:
Assist with food distribution and customer service.
Help with deliveries of food and stock shelves.
Help with pricing stock and making sure shelves are kept full, clean and tidy.
Providing refreshments, cups of tea, biscuits etc.
Help keep the space tidy and welcoming.

Requirements:
Friendly and approachable demeanour.
Willingness to lend a hand where needed.
No prior experience is necessary.

We are looking for people who can commit at least two hours a week to this role, but if you can commit more that would be fantastic and something we could discuss.

Experience required: We welcome everyone, regardless of their skills. What matters most is a willingness to learn and pitch in. If you enjoy helping others and have some experience with customer service, you'll fit right in!

Hub/Coffee Shop support for LGBT+ Charity

We are looking for more amazing volunteers to join our Four Pillars team to help support the organisations daily operations. They would primarily help run our Coffee Shop and in turn support the LGBT+ Community who use this service. Volunteers would be an extension of the staff and asked to help meet and greet service users making any new visitors feel welcome and sharing information of any groups or events taking place which may be of interest to them. Many of our service users live alone, and have little family or friends to support them, so seeing a friendly face and being given the chance to have a cuppa and a chat for a few hours is invaluable to them. We have various groups which are held each evening, and these are peer lead, and run by our volunteers. These are closed sessions, so offer a safe, confidential environment for anyone attending. Volunteers support our staff to ensure the Coffee Shop and toilets are kept clean and tidy, throughout the day. They may also be asked support any events we run throughout the year. The largest event we run is Grampian Pride. Volunteers would be notified of any other one off opportunities by the Volunteer Coordinator as well as being invited to attend any of the internal or external training sessions which may take place. They can also participate in the brand new RAVE Scheme (Rainbow Award 4 Volunteer Excellence) which is an activity rewards system to recognise and encourage volunteer dedication and skill development within the organisation. Customer Service Volunteers

We have a fantastic team of staff and volunteers at Cancer Research UK Union Street store (125 Union Street Aberdeen, AB11 6HB). We have great opportunities for more people to join our volunteer team to help us with customer service. Our shop has been open just over a year and is lovely and clean, colour coordinated and has bags of style. Shop Volunteer

Volunteers will be sorting donations as they come into the shop as well as arrange new window displays to bring customers into the shop. Volunteers also serve customers and offer assistance if needed. Volunteers work as a team to keep th shop clean and tidy. This opportunity is both Duke of Edinburgh and Saltire Awards friendly. Volunteers will support the shop manager/supervisor and other store volunteers.

Student Charity Book Shop Volunteers

For over 30 years the University’s second hand bookshop BookEnds been providing students not only a way to buy cheap textbooks, CDs and DVDs but also a way to make some money. We currently have over 6000 books in the shop, ranging from medical and science textbooks to literature and fiction. BookEnds is a part of University of Aberdeen’s Student Charities Campaign which means that a large portion of what we make each year in the shop goes to local charities in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. BookEnds are always looking for new volunteers – any member of the public is very welcome to volunteer with us and all help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated (plus if you are a student, we are also looking for new members for our committee). Please get in touch! Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. Includes induction to show you how the store runs and volunteers are given committee details to allow them to get in touch with any questions. New volunteers will also be accompanied by a committee member on shift at all times for the first few weeks.
