No matter how good our services are, we can’t properly support our users/community well if we don’t have good organisers in the team. If this sounds like you?... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week/month.
The primary purpose of Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels is the prevention and provision of relief from food poverty in the local area of Old Kilpatrick and its environs.
Our friendly office is an ideal place for you to put your Administration skills to great use- ideally you would have good Computer and filing skills, be good with the members of the public, have a good telephone manner and keep records up to date.

So, whether you are looking to use your time well or update your skills, we would love to hear from you. In return we can offer you a warm welcome and all the support you could need.
We are seeing a rise in demand for our services everyday. Having your help will allow us to be there for the people who need us. Any time you can give will make a real difference.

Organisation aims and objectives

The primary purpose of Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels is the prevention and provision of relief from food poverty in the local area of Old Kilpatrick and its environs. In so doing we seek to advance health in the local area; advance citizenship and the development of the community and helping in the relief of those in need by reason of their age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or any other disadvantage. We respond to the needs of the community, working towards the relief of financial hardship and social isolation. Providing a no questions asked means to support and provide a safe, confidential haven for those in need.

Volunteer Administrator

The Driving Force are a small, friendly local charity helping people living with cancer in Bonnybridge and Denny by providing free transport to hospital and free therapies in their own home. As an administrator you will often be the first interaction with the charity for donors and new volunteers. It's a great chance to make a real difference to local people in your community. All training and expenses are covered, and there are regular meetings and social events where you can meet other volunteers. We are all volunteers here at The Driving Force and any help you can give would make a big difference. Your time commitment can be flexible and depend on how much time you wanted to give – 2-3 hours a week would be very valuable. This opportunity includes processing requests from people wanting to volunteer, so you would be important in giving them a good first impression of the charity. As this is a home-based opportunity, you would need to use your own phone and laptop with suitable, safe software installed. If necessary a laptop may be able to be lent to you. Other tasks you can help with depends on how much time you have, your expertise, and what you enjoy doing. We would appreciate help with sending out thank you letters for donations, documenting feedback, keeping our website up-to-date, contacting people to offer our therapies and managing our documents. You can also join in with other roles in the charity, such as fundraising, and take part in discussions to improve what we do and how we do it. Regional Administrator

We have a new role a Regional Administrator. Geography is no barrier to this. The role can be done at home so is open to anyone in our Region who lives in Midlothian. This role is ideal for anyone with a couple of hours a month who is keen to give back to their community, help our young people realise their potential, do good and use their existing skills. South East Scotland Scouts provides Scouting for 4-25 year olds. We’re growing our friendly and talented team to help us deliver more skills for life across Scotland. The Regional Administrator will support the Regional Commissioner to ensure the smooth functioning & sound administration of the Region. We are looking for a responsible person to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. This role is flexible in location & time. No previous experience of Scouting is required.
