We are looking for community engagement volunteers to work alongside our community engagement team Engage with local community groups/services to raise awareness of the range of Marie Curie support services (including our national services) Engage with and bring together people in communities (especially those who are poorly served by end of life care), to understand their experiences. Support Marie Curie in co -designing and developing new and existing services to support people at the end of life or in their bereavement. Feel confident in sharing their story and listening to others in an open and sensitive way. What we need you to do Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks: Provide input and advice and share your experiences Act as an ambassador and advocate for the charity supporting our work Engage with local organisations and represent the views and perspectives of people living with or caring for someone with a terminal illness, or who have been bereaved. Engage with local communities to listen to and learn from their experiences of end-of-life care and bereavement support and ensure that these experiences are shared with the local Marie Curie teams. Provide a good geographical spread across the relevant local area Available to meet regularly with the Community Engagement Team What skills or experience do you need? Feel confident and able to share your story to a diverse audience. Development Volunteers we need you !!!!!!!!! We are looking for a person(s) to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association). The board run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre (Garthdee). Main tasks and duties include: -Attend our monthly Board meetings -Taking notes and prepare a monthly report for the Board meeting. -Identifying the learning needs of the local community with the Board -Assist in sourcing funding A fantastic opportunity to help and make a difference for the community. We are looking for a volunteer who would like to become our minute secretary. This involves attending once monthly meetings for about 2hrs (7-9pm) usually the third Thursday in Forfar to take minutes for the meeting, typing these up and distributing to the members. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in your local community and might suit a volunteer hoping to further develop IT and admin skills.

You will be the first point of contact for clients within the Bureau, along with helping to ensure the smooth running and organisation of the Bureau is many different ways. Depending on what your are comfortable with you might be doing the following: -Welcoming clients -Answering telephone calls/emails and passing messages to the appropriate person or arranging appointments for clients -Updating databases and information systems -Filing and photocopying -Taking minutes at meetings -Ordering stationary and other supplies
