Your role as a Clan events volunteer is essential in helping to generate the funds needed for us to provide our vital support services to people affected by cancer diagnosis in your local community. You could be asked to get involved in a variety of activities, whether it's manning a cheering point on one of our runs, walks or cycles, helping to welcome guests at our annual lunch or ball, or providing information at one of our open days, Typical activities include: - Helping to prepare for an event - this might involve preparing information and signage, setting up routes for runs/walks/cycles, sorting displays and activities, moving chairs and tables, putting up gazebos etc. - Providing a warm and friendly welcome to all attendees of Clan events, answering any questions and encouraging people to get involved in the event/activity -Assisting at larger scale events such as the Clan Ball or Clan Lunch - this might involve manning the car park, directing attendees to the right location, providing information, running stalls, assisting with activities, salling tickets or accept donations - Working together with Clan staff to ensure the best possible experience for our events attendees/participants and signposting where appropriate - Helping to raise awareness of Clan services

This is an extremely important role within the organization and carries a lot of responsibility. As an events volunteer, you will be given endless opportunities to develop your skills by working alongside us. It’s also a great way to take a front-line approach to getting involved with the Cycle Hub and share our passion for bikes with others. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our team during the live delivery of our events e.g. Dr Bike, Maintenance Session Classes, Smoothie Bike rental, Pump Track, Crazy Bikes rental. We also run Clubs, Camps and Bike Maintenance in schools. Options include: - Marshalling/Hands on at the likes of Dr Bike, Maintenance Sessions, Smoothie Bike, Pump Track, Crazy Bikes, Trail Leading, Recycles Future Projects (Clubs, Camps and Bike Maintenance in schools) - Logistics Help With most of our Volunteer Opportunities there is opportunity to develop the experience further should you wish. We provide training to help you do this. We greatly value your time so we give you a one month induction period to ensure you are fully welcomed to the Cycle Hub. We also think its important to give you that time so you can try us out and make sure we fit in with your life schedule and commitments.

In return for your help at our events, Clan will: • Aim to ensure that volunteering with us is a fulfilling and worthwhile experience. You’ll have support from staff, with the opportunity to gain and develop skills and meet with other volunteers. • Reimburse expenses you incur whilst volunteering in accordance with our Expenses Policy

CoEL are seeking to recruit volunteers to help organise and facilitate the range of events, training and workshops we offer to carers throughout the year. This programme of events and training aims to increase carer's confidence in their caring role, to encourage engagement in peer support, and to provide an opportunity to take part in enjoyable activities for some welcome respite. With the help of volunteers we hope to expand our reach and the range of events and workshops we can provide. Volunteers will help to organise and facilitate events and training for carers across the year, with a particular focus on activities over Carers Week.
