REAP is currently looking for 2 or 3 volunteers to help support upcoming gardening sessions at their Maryhill Therapeutic Garden in Elgin. Working alongside the REAP team, volunteers will help participants get involved in gardening activities, helping people to build their skills, confidence, and wellbeing. Therapeutic gardening is the use of garden space to improve and build resilience in mental health; to increase physical activity; develop social skills and encourage a healthier diet. REAP’s aim is to help participants improve their mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing through gardening and socialising in a beautiful, peaceful environment. Sessions are returning soon on February 11th and will run on a weekly basis on Tuesday afternoons 2-5pm or Friday mornings 10-12:30pm. Volunteers can help people take part in various gardening activities such as sowing seeds, learning about composting and harvesting vegetables to take home. There’s also a chance to socialise during the tea breaks! Volunteers will also be supported in their development by being offered training relevant to the project. An exciting opportunity to join the Under the Trees team, working in the great and beautiful outdoors whilst gaining valuable experience working with young children and young adults. You will potentially be working in all weathers and in all seasons - we can provide waterproofs! Under the Trees runs fun and educational sessions for school children in the Falkirk and Stirling areas, as well as a programme of public events for all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Events run all year round. As a Volunteer Education Assistant, there will be opportunities for you to do a range of the following: - Assist with Educational Sessions for school groups, including term-time forest schools. - Assist with sessions for the general public, including a monthly nature club for ages 0-13. - Assist with holiday play sessions and family events. - Plan and lead in activities. - Maintain resources effectively. - Keep session areas safe and tidy. - Desk-based activities in planning, creating materials and administration.

LOCATION Forthbank Recycling Centre, Alloa (Donation Station) WHAT'S INVOLVED? Recycling Sorters play a pivotal role in saving valuable items from landfill. Alloa Community Enterprise (ACE) is currently looking for volunteers to identify and sort salvageable items at our Donation Station based at the local recycling centre in Forthbank, Alloa. The role involves identifying and sorting, recyclable materials which can be sold or recycled as is at our local retail outlet at the Hub, the Whins, Alloa. RESPONSIBILITIES · Identify and remove non-recyclable materials. · Sort recyclable materials into the storage area. · Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations. · Keep work area clean and organised. · Communicate with team members to optimise efficiency. · Report any issues to supervisor. REQUIREMENTS · Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. · Attention to detail and the ability to identify different types of recyclable materials. · Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors. · Willingness to work in various weather conditions. · Basic math skills for calculating weights and measurements. · Good communication skills to enable interaction with members of the public. · Familiarity with safety procedures and equipment for handling hazardous materials. · Willingness to work flexible hours as needed. An Induction and training for this role will be carried out by Clackmannanshire Council.

The St Magnus Way are looking for volunteer Path Keepers to walk sections of the St Magnus Way to check the condition of the path and report any problems to the Volunteer Coordinator. Key activities include: • Checking the general condition of the path in a particular section of the Way. • Checking way marker poles and way markers (missing or fallen). • Checking in grassy areas if strimming is required. • Reporting major littering. • Taking home minor litter. • Informing the Coordinator when a section has been checked. What could a volunteer gain from the experience? • Providing a service to the local community and visitors. • Being part of a St Magnus Way community of walkers. • Exercise and fresh air.
