Peer Education Volunteers (SL)

Description

LANDED encourages young people from all over Lanarkshire to get involved by becoming Volunteer Peer Educators.

We meet every week and provide young people with relevant, current info on a whole range of topics such as drugs, alcohol, sexual health, tobacco & vaping, cannabis and gambling.

Our volunteers will then use their newfound knowledge to pass on harm reduction messages to other young people. You may be asked to facilitate workshops with LANDED Staff, help develop games, booklets, social media videos or DVD’s during your time with LANDED – your choices are endless!

Our LANDED Staff works closely with each volunteer not only in group settings but one-to-one too, meeting regularly to check in and make sure they are supported as much as they need to be.

Staff will never force a volunteer to participate in an activity if they don’t want to but will gently encourage them to increase their confidence and self-esteem, gain new skills, and make friends.
