Description

Friockheim Community Hub is the former Eastgate Primary School and is a fully inclusive project involving the whole community which is owned, managed, and operated by the community itself as a registered charity. The Hub aims to support all age groups and to provide a place for residents to get together socially and groups/clubs to meet (Young People, Elderly, Disabled, Mother & Toddlers, Pre-School, & Children).

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us cover our café within the Hub at Eastgate, angus DD11 4TG. Some tasks would include:
· To assist with the running of the Lochside Café including: - preparing light snacks, sandwiches etc. as required
· Observing and complying with all relevant Health & Safety & Hygiene requirements
· Meeting, greeting and serving customers
· Cashing-up and the handling of cash - keeping finance records of all Café transactions
· Washing-up/clearing tables and ensuring the Café seating area is kept clean and tidy.

We are looking for a couple of amazing volunteers who could help spare a couple of hours on days we are open.
Monday to Friday – from 12pm til 3pm
Saturdays – from 11am til 2pm

Or if you are a cook and would like to help us by volunteering to help prep or bake cakes.
Monday to Friday – from 9am til 11am

Based in the former Eastgate Primary School, The Hub @ Friockheim is a fully inclusive project involving the whole community which is owned, managed and operated by the community itself as a registered charity. The Friockheim Community Hub Articles of Association can be found here. The Hub aims to support all age groups and provide a place for residents to get together socially and groups & clubs to meet. • Young People • Elderly • Disabled • Mother & toddlers • Pre-school children • Children The Hub will provide a range of community services with access to wide range of facilities and classes including changing places which will be open 24/7, 365 days a year (Access via RADAR key). The Hub is open to all users, wherever they live, whatever their age or circumstances and you do not have to be a member to use the facilities.

Experience required: Skills and Qualities Needed: · Ability to assist with the efficient and safe running of a Café · Ability to prepare and serve food in accordance with appropriate legislation · Enthusiasm and interest in the job · Ability to work without supervision · Ability to deal sensitively with the general public · Ability to implement and promote Equal Opportunities · Ability to implement Health & Safety guidelines · Interest and commitment to serving the users of the Café.

Training details: Support and Training: Support and Training will be provided by the Assistant Manager and the Manager of FCHLtd. This is an amazing opportunity to access training including food hygiene and adult achievement awards, so if you are looking to gain experience whilst learning this would be the perfect opportunity for you.
