Description

We are recruiting new volunteers to be part of our Dementia Helpline team.
Can you spare 8 hour per month to make sure nobody faces dementia alone?
Our next Helpline Volunteer Preparation Programme will run late 2024/early 2025(location TBC)

Organisation aims and objectives

Alzheimer Scotland is the leading dementia organisation in Scotland. We campaign for the rights of people with dementia and their families and provide an extensive range of innovative and personalised support services.

Frequency and commitment details

Minimum of 8 hours per month

Restrictions

Experience required: • Empathy, excellent listening and communication skills. • A reliable internet connection and phone line. • Confident and/or willing to use a computer/tablet, including Microsoft TEAMS and Outlook. • Committed to Alzheimer Scotland’s values. • Willing to develop skills and experience. • Participate in our Volunteer Preparation Programme and any refresher updates • Able to keep sensitive data safe and secure at home. • Willing to follow our policies, procedures and guidelines
Travel details: Not required except for training which is normally in the central belt. Online options may be available.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Travel expenses for training once PVG Disclosure complete.
Training details: Our next Helpline Volunteer Preparation Programme is running in June 2024 (venue TBC). Once on the line we run quarterly training sessions and online skills update sessions.
