Description

About Us
Indepen-dance is an award-winning inclusive dance company for disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy, express and fulfil their potential through dance. Our mission is to enable participation in high quality arts provision and improve wellbeing, quality of life and provide opportunities for disabled and non-disabled dancers in both the professional and non-professional dance sectors. We provide weekly creative movement and dance classes throughout the year, where participants become lifelong members and join a
thriving social network. We also provide bespoke professional training, career development and employment opportunities.

About the Role
Our Parents and Carers class is a dance class focused around wellbeing, the aim of these classes is to provide respite and creative outlet for parents and carers wellbeing.
The classes run weekly on Thursdays 7pm – 8pm at our venue in Bridgeton – 159-161 James Street, G40 1BS.
You will be asked to volunteer from 6:45pm – 7:15pm to allow you time to prepare and meet the group and tidy up and say goodbyes.

The new role of Activity Lead Volunteer will be to lead and deliver an activity for a mix of ages.
To enable our Parents and Carers to attend the class we are introducing an activity group which will run at the same time to offer support.

This is an opportunity to bring your own ideas. You will get to know the group and their interests and what they would like to do in the time each week. You will facilitate a weekly group which will reflect their interests - some ideas from the group so far have been – an arts and crafts group, games competition group.
