Volunteers will be sorting donations as they come into the shop as well as arrange new window displays to bring customers into the shop. Volunteers also serve customers and offer assistance if needed. Volunteers work as a team to keep th shop clean and tidy. This opportunity is both Duke of Edinburgh and Saltire Awards friendly. Volunteers will support the shop manager/supervisor and other store volunteers.

You can help behind the scenes or on the shop floor and you can branch out into different areas and do extra training. For example, team leader, online retail, social media, admin & accountancy roles, community outreach, and events organising.

Main duties: We would love to find some new people to help in our Crown Street charity shop which is open Monday to Saturday. We have teams of volunteers working each day: receiving, unpacking and pricing donations; helping on the shop floor; and serving customers. Ideally volunteers would be able to commit to a full day each week, but even half a day would be welcome.

The is a varied role and could include lifting heavy furniture and electrical items, electrical testing ( testing our donated electrical items to make sure they work), customer service, helping to keep the shop spick and span, making our donated stock and shop floor clean and presentable, handyperson tasks (includes assembling and dismantling as necessary, occasional repair work), helping with rotation of stock, pricing, operating the till and visual merchandiser tasks such as creating displays.
