Crossroads Fife Central is looking to recruit innovative, enthusiastic people to become members of their Board.

Crossroads Fife Central is one of the leading providers of home-based respite care for Carers. The organisation offers a short break service to people who care for people of any age and/or disability. The organisation is also a registered provider of Self Directed Support and Purchased Care.

The service is provided by trained, paid staff in the service user's home or service users are taken out within the Fife area on a day and time which suits them.

Crossroads Fife Central has charitable status and is led by an experienced Board who have overall responsibility for the governance and strategic direction of the organisation's work.

The organisation is seeking to recruit new members to the Board to expand on the skills and expertise of the management committee. They are looking for individuals who possess knowledge, skills and experience of human resources, business and charity work with entrepreneurial skills, or who have experience and understanding of the caring role.

Organisation aims and objectives

Crossroads Fife Central offers respite to carers who care for people of all ages with a disability or illness. This respite comes in the form of short breaks in the person's home or staff can take the cared for person out. This support is provided by contacting Crossroads to make a referral. The service can be purchased through direct payments, self directed support or private purchase or is free-funded by Fife Council social work department and Fife NHS - there is a waiting list for this service.










Minimum 3 hours every 2 months when the Board meets.


Experience required: Looking for individuals who possess knowledge, skills and experience of human resources, business, charity work work with entrepreneurial skills or have an understanding of the caring role.
Travel details: The Board meet every 2 months in the evening at the Crossroads Fife office in Glenrothes.
Minimum age: 18


Training details: All Board members are issued with an induction pack. There is initial and ongoing support from other members of the Board and the manager service. There are opportunities for ongoing training.
