Description

Wasp Community Club is a registered charity set up to provide sporting opportunities to children within Clackmannanshire. There are currently 250 children aged between 5 and 16 attending, and around 60 active volunteers. The club also runs and is looking to extend its provision into areas such as employability training and adult fitness.

We are looking for people with administration, coordination and leadership skills that can be used to help run the Club. This can be as diverse as:

  • Recruiting training and retaining volunteers
  • Dealing with databases for players and coaches and governing bodies
  • Organising training courses for both club members and external users
  • Operating all marketing and communication including social media
  • Dealing with players, parents and coaches on a daily basis
  • Dealing with Suppliers
  • Apply to funders and organise fundraising events
  • Booking facilities
  • Dealing with cash and bankings

You will work alongside other volunteers and 2 part time members of staff and you will be given full training and mentoring support. An interest in sport, especially football, would be helpful but in no way essential. Ideally, being available during the working day and a couple of hours for 2 evenings per week would be ideal.

The focus of the Community Club is that everyone, regardless of ability, can take part and that it should be fun. The ability to bear this in mind whilst dealing with parents and kids is vital. The key words are maturity and resilience.

In return for your time, the club will provide £15 a week to spend at the leisure bowl, and free entry to Alloa home games.
