Description

This is a fun opportunity for young volunteers to assist at afterschool primary school activity sessions. These session will vary depending on the location, but are likely to either be homework clubs, sports clubs, gardening sessions, art sessions or coding clubs. Young volunteers will assist the project coordinator by helping set up equipment, showing children what to do, ensuring the children engage well and are kept safe. The sessions are likely to be straight after school and be around an hour in length. This is a great opportunity to gain experience of working with children in a relaxed and fun environment. Volunteers will be supported & supervised by the project coordinator.

Restrictions

This is a supported volunteering opportunity specifically for young volunteers aged 14-20 as part of the Transform Project.
Experience required: Volunteers should be enthusiastic, helpful & good listeners and have an interest in working with children. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
Travel details: The sessions will be at various primary schools in the Dalkeith, Mayfield and Gorebridge area.
Minimum age: 14
