Role at a Glance: As an Events Volunteer, you'll be at the forefront of generating vital funds to support our Veterans. Your enthusiasm will light up various community settings as you: 📆 Schedule: Coordinate with our fundraising team based on your availability, making this a flexible commitment. 🏢 Event Setup/Clear up: Play a crucial role in setting up and tidying event/venue areas and displays, ensuring everything runs smoothly. 📋 Registration Desk Host: Welcome participants with a warm smile and assist them with registrations. 🛍️ Merchandise Maestro: Show off your sales skills by manning our Erskine-branded merchandise stalls. 🎟️ Raffle Rockstar: Sell raffle tickets and/or collect donations on-site during events. 🚚 Logistics Pro: Help transport goods and resources to and from event venues. 🏃 General Runner: Be the go-to person for various on-the-day tasks that keep the event running seamlessly. 🎉 Event Extraordinaire: If you're up for it, you might even contribute to event entertainment, activities, or event photography to capture the magic. 🤝 Support Ambassador: Provide support, encouragement, and resources to event participants taking on sponsorship challenges. *Why we need you: At Social Bite we believe that no one should be hungry, there is enough food and wealth in the city that means we can do something about this. Food is a great way of meeting peoples’ needs as well as offering community, a listening ear, and sign posting people to other services they may need. *What will you be doing? As part of a team of volunteers and a Social Bite shop staff member, you will be: • Preparing hot food, drinks, and setting up the shop to offer this take away service. • Being a friendly face and talking to people about how they are doing. • 'Signposting' people to various services provided by our partner charities e.g. housing/benefits advice, courses, drug/alcohol support. • Inviting them to Social Suppers. • Cleaning up after the session has finished. *What support will you be given? • Induction session with a background to the organisation, role specific training, and information about local services to sign post people towards. • Regular opportunities to feedback to Volunteer Coordinator. • Volunteer Calendar of events and Volunteer Bi Monthly Newsletter. • FLOW Online Food hygiene and healthy & safety training. • Quarterly refresher training evenings. • Debrief with on-call staff member when needed. Furniture Plus provides affordable furniture to people in Fife through their Dysart and Dunfermline stores, supporting the community and the environment by reducing waste and encouraging reuse. They are looking for Warehouse Assistants to help out in their showroom in Dunfermline.
