Hubgrub cafe, based in Restalrig Lochend Community Hub, cooks and serves fresh, home-made soup, light meals, toasties and home baking. Improving the quality of life for people in Restalrig and Lochend through the provision of high quality services which assist the community to help itself. We run 18 projects providing services for children and young people, families, the elderly and individuals in crisis.

The Ripple Project is looking for volunteers who can give 3-5 hours a week between 10:00am-2:30pm Mon-Fri. Volunteers who can give more hours would be welcome.

Restrictions

Experience required: The Ripple Project is seeking friendly, reliable, flexible team workers. Although no special skills are required prior to starting, an interest in food or previous catering experience would be useful. All volunteers must be able to follow Food Standards A
Travel details: The Ripple Project, Restalrig Lochend Community Hub, 198 Restalrig Road South Edinburgh EH7 6DZ. LRT Routes 19, 21, 25,34,49. On-street parking is available.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Travel expenses and any training paid for. Meal provided too.
Taster available: Yes
Training details: Induction, including food hygiene and health & safety will be provided during the first week. Volunteers will be offered the opportunity to attend a certificated Elementary Food Hygiene course within 3 months of volunteering.
