Coffee Bar Helper

  • VO67668

Description

We provide a daily coffee bar service to the families and friends of prisoners during the half hour sessions. This is appreciated and goes some way towards providing a more normal social setting for these sometimes difficult times. Friendly, enthusiastic, non-judgmental contact by volunteers at the counter whilst providing light refreshments is what we are looking for in new helpers. Our volunteers, both men and women, find the work enjoyable, challenging, different and an opportunity.

Organisation aims and objectives

By running a coffee bar in the prison visits room for families, friends and prisoners during the half hour visit sessions, we aim to provide a service which helps to give a valuable social element to what is often a difficult and stressful time. All our profits are given to prison related charities. Scottish Charity #: SCO40582
