We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.

Assistant Tutor for Computer Clubs

  • VO67628

Description

Are you a ‘people person’ who is also comfortable using the internet and a tablet device/laptop and related devices? We’re looking for volunteers to build the confidence of the older people who come to our Computer Clubs. Also to contribute to the social interaction and fun which are key features of the clubs. Apply online via our website www.tap-into-it.co.uk

Organisation aims and objectives

Our mission is to help everyone (particularly older people) to get online, promoting social inclusion and benefiting all of us. We do this where people are – in their own homes or the places where they feel ‘at home’ in the local community. As far as the latter is involved, currently we're supporting people in sheltered housing complexes run by Viewpoint Housing Association and a Community Centre. We are also working towards enabling people with conditions that mean they need more intensive or ongoing support (e.g. Dementia, Stroke, sight or hearing loss etc) to tap into the benefits of the internet.
