Description

During the match, the client will be supported to identify activities of their choice which involve getting out and about, making links with local groups, developing new friendships and taking up hobbies and interests. This will help them to develop greater confidence and support their return to independence. Activities may include: Going for short walks or outings, attending local groups (e.g. crafts, singing, gardening), making use of local resources (e.g. library, sports centre).

Restrictions

Experience required: Good listening and communication skills. Friendly personality/approachable. Reliable with good time keeping. Patience and empathy. Non-judgmental. Respectful of confidentiality. Able to work within set boundaries. Keep accurate visit records and feeding back to the team regularly.
Travel details: Edinburgh city wide. Meeting location will depend on client and volunteer in the city and meet current govt. guidelines in terms of social distancing.
