Description

Specific Duties - along with Project staff collecting transport lists from office and then going with vehicle and driver to collect clients from their home, physically assist them onto the vehicle and ensure they are properly seated and securely fastened in. Clients are then brought to the Neighbourhood Centre, assisted in alighting from the vehicle into the Centre and seated for the daycare, lunch and social activities The volunteer will assist the social care workers in the general operations.

Aim to provide advice, information, social and therapeutic care to older and disabled people in an area of south Edinburgh.In particular, Prestonfield and the surrounding district.

Restrictions

Experience required: A caring individual with a genuine interest in older people. Some awareness and understanding of working with people with dementia would be an advantage but training will be offered.

Training details: Induction takes place on start date ? training as soon as possible after that and it is certified.
