Events Assistant

Description

As well as our regular calendar of events and activities that run each month, we are hoping to increase our scope for one-off events, and their capacity for fundraising. This role will support staff in the creation and delivery of events, assisting with brainstorming, publicity, logistical preparations, and facilitation of the actual event. This role requires a monthly commitment of approx 6 hours (including events themselves), enthusiasm and energy, and an interest in expanding the services.

Organisation aims and objectives

At LGBT Health and Wellbeing, we aim to improve the health and wellbeing of all LGBT people living in Scotland through building the strength of individuals and creating community connections. We offer advice and support throughout Scotland, and deliver services in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fife.

Restrictions

Experience required: Previous experience of organizing events and/or fundraising an advantage, able to use Microsoft Publisher or equivalent, Enthusiasm and commitment, good communication skills, able to work in a team and a confident approach.
Travel details: The opportunity is at the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing, 9 Howe Street. All expenses can be re-imbursed by the Project Administrator
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses details: Expenses are re-imbursed to volunteers on the production of receipts to the Project administrator
Training details: Any volunteer working at the Centre is provided with on-going training and support from the project workers. Staff at the Centre are friendly and approachable and any volunteer taken on at the Centre will be made to feel like part of a team.
