Description

CAPS provides Individual Advocacy in East Lothian and Midlothian and runs several experience-led Collective Advocacy projects across Lothian. You will receive induction, training, guidance and support from CAPS staff. Organisation aims and objectives

CAPS is an independent advocacy organisation for people who use or have used mental health services. We are completely independent from the people who fund us and those who provide other services to the people we work with. We provide individual and collective advocacy in East Lothian and Midlothian. We also host several mental health related, experience-led projects across Lothian.

2 to 3 hours meeting every 2 months; occasional special Management Committee meetings; occasional training and development days with CAPS staff; attendance at the AGM. Role requires a minimum commitment of 12 months.

Travel details: Musselburgh is served by many Lothian Buses routes. The office is approximately 1 mile from Musselburgh railway station.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Out of pocket expenses agreed in advance and incurred exclusively as a result of the role are paid monthly. Evidence of the expenses incurred is required for all items to be refunded.
Training details: You will receive induction, training, guidance and support from CAPS staff. You will also receive external training on the Role & Responsibilities of Charity Trustees. Opportunity to attend other specific skills training as identified.
