Description

The Gate is a local charity set up to prevent or relieve poverty and improve the conditions of life of people who are marginalized, facing exclusion, vulnerable or homeless in the Clackmannanshire area.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist in our Friday Café, which is open 12pm to 2pm, with volunteers required to assist between 10am and 3pm.
No cooking is required. All food is reheated on the day of service.

The role may involve the following tasks:

  • Waitressing/serving customers
  • Dish washing and cleaning appliances
  • Making and serving hot/cold drinks
  • Heating and preparing soup
  • Making sandwiches
  • Cooking and serving Baked Potatoes
  • Welcoming existing and new customers

No previous experience required. However, good people skills are required. In addition, you should be someone who has good communication skills, an ability to work independently, be reliable, trustworthy, and dedicated. The hours are flexible as they are based on our needs; however it would be useful if you could spare a couple of hours a week. You will receive all relevant training, and support from our Centre Manager.

Experience required: To carry out this role you will need a background and skills in a manual trade.
Minimum age: 16
