Working in partnership with The Co op it has been reported that over 70% of people living in the UK have expressed that at some point in their lives they have experienced loneliness and/or Social Isolation.

This can have a detrimental effect on health and wellbeing and we are looking to support those most at risk. This can be anyone 16+ for example New Mums, Individuals with Mobility Restrictions, Elderly, Individuals experiencing Bereavement/Empty Nest to name a few. This will be a volunteer led project with support from Community Connectors based in Dundee/Fife/Aberdeen/Inverness and Shetland.

We are looking for individuals who are willing to give up a little of their time to re build service users confidence to re-engage into their local communities.

Each service user will be supported for a 12 week period and will be sign posted to the relevant organisation as required.

All training is provided which is fantastic for self-development! This is a new project with new staff and volunteers who are all extremely excited to be involved.

Organisation aims and objectives

Support vulnerable people in UK and abroad to prepare, withstand and recover from community and personal crisis. Special services in UK include First Aid training, First Aid at public events and Health & Safety care focused on: Wheelchair loan, transport & escort, skin camouflage, and therapeutic care.

Experience required: No experience required however it would be ideal for volunteers to be empathetic, caring, Good listening and communication skills
Travel details: Dundee
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Volunteers will be reimbursed for travel expenses this being claiming expense for bus tickets. Volunteers who drive can also claim for mileage at 45p per mile. Receipts must be produced when claiming expenses
Training details: 3 days training course. By the end of the programme, participants will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver our services to people in crisis. Topics covered include psycho-social support, listening skills, safeguarding adults and young people, first aid, treating people with dignity and much more.
