LGBT Youth Scotland urgently needs youth work volunteers in the Borders! Would you like to volunteer in a youth work role supporting a group of LGBTI young people, within an exciting and supportive national charity? Previous experience of working with young people is preferred; a commitment to equality and an awareness of LGBTI issues and identities is essential. LGBT Youth Scotland supports young people between 13 and 25 in the Scottish Borders. To provide advice and support anywhere in the Borders. Safe online space to chat to other young people. Provide events and activities. Enable young people to have their voices heard.
Experience required: Essential:
Excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of a team, ability to relate to young people, knowledge of issues affecting LGBT young people.
Sense of humour, computer literate, knowledge of sexual health issues, youth work qualification or equivalent experience.
Travel details: The group meet in Selkirk every Wednesday from 4:30-7:15pm at Rowland's (24-26 West Port, Selkirk.

Training details: There is a wide range of training available to volunteers on an ongoing basis (out training calendar is available on request). A minimum of one half-day induction session and one half-day child protection training is compulsory before commencing work with young people.
