Quiet Waters would like to recruit a new Volunteer Treasurer, Quiet Waters are a Christian organisation but provide services to people of all faiths, and none. The Chair of the Board, and the current Treasurer are available to have an informal chat with any interested volunteers in the first instance, a description of the tasks/role of the Treasurer are detailed below.

To manage the financial responsibilities of the organisation with support from staff and other Board members.
Draw up, maintain and update as appropriate, an operational budget based on projected income and expenditure against the Business Plan (over three years)
Develop an appropriate Funding Strategy to ensure that all QW’s planned activities are fully funded.
Provide strategic leadership to the Income Generation Sub-group (including Development Manager) across all funding programmes to achieve targeted income.
Provide regular financial statements to the Board make recommendations and advise Board on all relevant financial matters – including Trustee liability.
Communicate relevant operational budgets to staff and approve all non-budgeted expenditure.
Review all insurance (public and employers liability, building and contents, professional indemnity, to ensure adequate and continuous cover/value for money and all conditions are being met
Review regular expenditures with a view to reducing costs and obtaining value for money
Administer Staff salaries and employer National Insurance liabilities through HMRC website.
Review salaries and terms and conditions of employment annually with the Board, advising on appropriate changes and salary increases in line with ‘cost of living’ and reflecting performance and responsibilities of staff members.
Prepare and present externally examined accounts (as prepared by independent examiner) at AGM.
Review, revise and maintain QW’s financial policies and procedures to ensure they remain relevant, effective, and compliant with current legislations and good practice.

Organisation aims and objectives

Quiet Waters aims to provide Christian counselling for all, regardless of faith, gender, ethnic origin or life choices.


The volunteer must be comfortable with Quiet Water's statement of faith as we are a Christian organisation.
Experience required: Experience of managing accounts highly desirable.
Travel details: At present Board meetings take place over Zoom, and many of the Volunteer Treasurer's tasks can be completed from home.


Training details: The Treasurer will be supported by to the other directors and the paid members of staff.
