Clackmannanshire Library Service has branches in each of the major locality hubs in the region and provides a range of services to the communities. We are very keen to engage with families and introduce them to reading at an early age. The Bookbug programme is a Scotland wide series of song and rhyme sessions sponsored by the Scottish Book Trust. This type of early intervention helps children meet developmental milestones and offers parents a chance to meet and socialise.
As a Bookbug Session Leader you will be working with a group of parents you provide a lead when signing nursery rhymes and songs. The candidate would need excellent communication skills and enjoy working with children. The sessions take place within libraries, full training and continued mentoring is given. Bookbug Session usually occur in the mornings at varied times, however we would be happy to discuss a time that suited you.
To carry out this role, You would need to be comfortable talking with a large group, be very friendly, have a desire to work with children and families, have Good time keeping, and be organised.
No experience is necessary as full training is given.
To provide day opportunities, activities, training and employment opportunities to adults with learning disabilities.

Training details: Training lasts a morning or an afternoon. Scaffolded introduction to group, followed by observation.
