Description

Do you have an interest in excellent customer service? Play a key role in helping people to gain their independence back. A Mobility Aids Volunteer driver This key role will enable people to return home after an illness or surgery and help them to remain independent or go on a holiday or trip with friends or family. It will involve driving a Red Cross vehicle.

Typical tasks include:-

  • Delivering and collecting wheelchairs
  • Demonstrating how to use and look after our wheelchairs
  • Giving information about other Red Cross services where appropriate
  • Completing delivery paperwork
  • Receiving and recording donations

We help vulnerable people in the UK and abroad prepare for, withstand and recover from emergencies in their own communities.

Restrictions

Experience required: None required, full training given.
Minimum age: 19

Expenses details: We pay public transport rates or mileage rates and reimburse volunteers quickly once the expense claim is received.
Training details: Foundation Training Programme (includes Manual Handling, Safeguarding Adults and Children, Psychosocial skills) and e-learning modules. Service specific on the job training.
