Description

Fertility Network Scotland provides advice, information and support for anyone affected by fertility issues. We also work to raise awareness of the impact of fertility problems and to campaign for fair provision of fertility treatment throughout Scotland.
As a Local Contact volunteer you will coordinate and run a social group in the local area for people experiencing the challenges of childlessness. You will take care of all aspects of the group including:-

Act as a main contact for the group.
Organise and maintain an email circulation list of people within the group.
Organise social activities or informal gatherings.
Offer peer to peer support and friendship.
Promote the group in the local area.
Liaise with the Volunteer Coordinator who will connect you to people looking for support.
Adhere to Fertility Network Scotland social policies and procedures.

Timings are flexible and will be discussed with volunteers.

Restrictions

This opportunity is restricted to those with experience of fertility issues and particularly involuntary childlessness.
Experience required: Good communication and leadership skills. Reliability and trustworthiness. Ability to work as part of a team. Motivated with good admin and IT skills to help the group operate at its best. Public speaking skills and willing to attend events. Knowledge of fertility issues essential.
Travel details: The opportunity takes place across Fife and volunteers can help out in their own area.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses details: Travel expenses not paid.
Training details: Volunteers will have an informal chat, home-based training and ongoing support from the Volunteer Coordinator.
