For our new GOGA programme we are seeking motivated volunteers to join our team. Our three main activities for this programme are walking, cycling and swimming. Here are some ways you can get involved in this fantastic new project:
• Walk Leading- train to be a walk leader and lead low level walks throughout the community for care groups, day centre or school children. Enjoy some fresh air and chit chat along the walk. All walks will be planned and risk assessed by GOGA Lead Officer.
• Cycle Leader- complete a cycle leader training course and lead supported cycles throughout the community. Help build individuals confidence and independence to ride a bike for the first time. All cycle routes will be planned and risk assessed by GOGA Lead Officer.
• Swimming Coach/ Support- perhaps you would like to complete a swimming qualification to help support or coach young girls or women to build their confidence in the water and learn to swim.
• Event Volunteer- FVDS run regional events for various different sports, you may wish to come along and support on the day or even referee.
Full training, equipment and clothing are supplied free of charge through Forth Valley Disability Sport. Volunteers are subject to full disclosure check.
We are a charitable organisation that works with many agencies and partners to provide sporting opportunities to children, young people and adults with physical, sensory and learning disabilities.
Experience required: A positive & enthusiastic attitude Reliability & good communication Previous experience in working with individuals with physical, sensory or learning disability is desirable however support and training is given. A friendly face
Travel details: Our opportunities listed above will be Forth Valley wide; Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling. Volunteers will be asked to make their own way to sessions/ events.

Expenses details: Help with expenses to specific events or sessions in surrounding local authority, where travel is further afield, is given. This can be discussed during informal meeting.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: An induction meeting will take place for the individual to meet our small staff team, current volunteers and get to know more about FVDS and our new project. New volunteer can join our events/ session as a taster to get a feel for the volunteer role.
Training details: Ongoing training will be available for the volunteer if they would like to increase their skill set and knowledge of a particular sport or aspect of the volunteer position. Ongoing support from GOGA Lead Officer and FVDS Branch Manager will be continuously.
