We are seeking women who have an interest in developing and supporting services for women and their children (who have or are experiencing domestic abuse) living in North Lanarkshire to become part of the Board of Directors of North Lanarkshire Women’s Aid Ltd. Advocating for and supporting the rights and equality of women against discrimination and oppression, and to challenging the structural and societal injustices women experience.

We would encourage women from all sectors of the community who have particular skills or experience in the following areas, accountancy, management, H.R, fundraising ,operational and strategic development, and understanding of legal systems and processes to consider giving approximately 2 hours of their time each month for Board Meetings with occasional other management duties. In return, you will receive all reasonable expenses, a comprehensive training and support programme and the knowledge that you have helped to make some women, children and young people in North Lanarkshire a little bit safer and more secure.

Travel details: Board members, in the main, attend monthly meetings at the Muirfield Centre, 1a South Muirhead Road, Cumbernauld G67 1AX and occasionally at different locations throughout North Lanarkshire i.e. meetings held by the Local Authority.
