2 Volunteering roles - General Advisor & Administrator / Receptionist

General Adviser:
• Providing general advice on broad range of enquiries
• Opportunity to specialise in an area of expertise, such as benefits, consumer rights, housing, debt, employment issues.

• General admin duties
• Answering phone and dealing with visitors

For both roles extensive training will be given

You will find this a very rewarding role, working in a friendly team whose aim is to help our CAB clients make informed choices with free, confidential and impartial advice.
We offer you a comprehensive training programme and lots of support to help you gain competence as an Adviser.

You will be interviewing clients: listening as the client explains the problem and assisting them to clarify the issues. Our Advice Information system and reference material provides the correct information that is then shared with the client to help them find solutions. You can also give practical help such as filling forms, calling third parties on behalf of the client or calculating benefits. Whatever you do for clients is recorded electronically so we can help them again if they return. Every day can be different, so if you like people and a challenge, then we’d like to meet you.
