Volunteer Buddy

  • VO64341

By becoming a Volunteer Buddy you will enable someone to get out and about a bit more. It may be that you spend social time with someone at their own home, chatting, playing a game of dominoes or watching sports. Or, depending on the individual you are matched with, you might go out for a coffee, a walk or to see a show.

The benefits to you as a volunteer can include, meeting new people, learning new skills, gaining valuable experience, confidence building but most importantly knowing that you are making a positive difference to someone’s life.

Organisation aims and objectives

Unquestioning recognition of their full human rights. Standards of excellence in all aspects of care from both staff and volunteers. The support of a forward looking and responsive organisation, aware of their needs and those of their carers. The opportunity to take an effective part at every level in running our services. Partnership in a continuing endeavour to help others wherever the need may be in the field of disability.

Experience required: We do not look for volunteers to have any particular experience, instead we focus on the qualities of volunteers. We ask that volunteers are kind and caring, punctual and reliable, want to make a difference to someone's life and finally, have a sense of humour.
