Description

A kitchen worker is required to assist staff in preparing meals for our older people’s lunch club and snacks for the toddler groups. The centre cooks all food on a daily basis on site and this position entails all areas from preparation to serving. Other main duties relate to dish washer operation, kitchen surface cleaning and table setting and cleaning. All of these activities to be conducted to agreed standards. Regular contact will be made with centre users, staff and other volunteers, therefore good communication skills are required as well as the ability to be adaptable and work as part of a team.

Organisation aims and objectives

Boomerang was set up in 1999 to provide a safe, comfortable and friendly centre in the heart of the community to stimulate community involvement and development with an aim to community regeneration. The project provides a user led centre assisting a variety of groups with varying interests to increase confidence, promote skills and strengthen individual identity and responsibilities.

A PVG Scotland Adults and Children Criminal Record check will be required

Preparing weekly menu, food shopping, preparing and cooking meals, clearing up kitchen and washing up Other ad hoc duties include: collecting in dirty plates, serving food, serving drinks, washing up What Skills/Experience Are Needed? Travel details: The facility is in Kemback Street in the Stobswell area.
