Come and join the team! LGBT Youth Scotland is currently looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers to support its youth groups and other exciting areas of work in Stirling, Falkirk and Alloa.

• Knowledge of issues affecting young people?

Organisation aims and objectives

We support young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people aged 13-25. We are looking for youth workers to help at our groups, which provide structured workshops for young people and an opportunity for them to bond with peers with similar experiences. The role would involve getting to know our young people and being a positive role model for them.










Approximately 3 hours on a weekday evening, fortnightly or monthly. Ideally 6-12 months minimum.


Youth work volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
Experience required: • An awareness of LGBT identities • Knowledge of issues affecting young people • A good awareness of boundaries • A good sense of humour
Travel details: The group runs every other week on a Wednesday from 6.00pm-8.00pm The Info Station, Under the Central Library, Back Walk, Stirling, FK8 2HX.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Pre-agreed expenses with receipt can be reimbursed. Please see our volunteer handbook for more information.
Taster details: Not as such, but we’d be very happy to discuss volunteering first if that would help. Volunteers are not permitted to work with young people until they have been PVG checked through our systems and have also completed induction training, reference checks etc.
