Helm is a charity based in Dundee which provides a creative, supportive learning service for people, in particular young people, who may face difficult barriers to developing sustainable careers. We encourage young people to strive for positive results and over 70% reach positive destinations.

Where do you fit in?

Helm are currently looking for a dynamic individual who can engage with students to find that spark that ignites a potential future in either training or employment within Landscaping / gardening.

You will be based at our Depot at Mid Wynd and expected to work alongside our Full Time staff member and our students in various locations across the city providing a Hard and Soft Landscaping service.

Organisation aims and objectives

Provision of employment and life skills training to disadvantaged young people and young parents. Promotion of healthy living lifestyle. Training and personal development courses for young people / parents. A range of social enterprise activities to support programme and generate incomes. Garden project selling plants, garage project carrying out car maintenance and valeting.










4 hours approx. per week, preferably for periods of 6 months and beyond.


Experience required: Experience in landscaping / gardening; Experience of Training / supervising people; A passion for landscaping / gardening; A full driving licence.
Travel details: Greenshoots, Helm Training, Block 2, Unit 11, Mid Wynd, Dundee, DD1 4JG. The depot is situated near PDSA Pet Aid Hospital, just of the Hawkhill Road and just a 10 min walk from the city centre. Notable buildings nearby are the Whitehall Theatre and Blackness Primary School.

Expenses details: Yes, if agreed in advance, and either 40p per mile for use of own car, or reimbursement of public transport.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Try with no commitment required.
Training details: Full induction given that will cover off meeting all of the team. Health and safety training
