Description

We have a fantastic team of staff and volunteers at Cancer Research UK Union Street store (125 Union Street Aberdeen, AB11 6HB). We have great opportunities for more people to join our volunteer team to help us with customer service. Our shop has been open just over a year and is lovely and clean, colour coordinated and has bags of style.

Good support and relevant training is provided-includes a taster session/shop visit and on going training and support.

Organisation aims and objectives

Lets beat cancer sooner! At Cancer Research UK we pioneer research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. We fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. We also provide cancer information to the public.

Frequency and commitment details

Flexible times available to suit volunteers. All help greatly appreciated.

Restrictions

Experience required: A friendly and helpful manner.
Travel details: 125 Union Street, Aberdeen City Centre.
Minimum age: 16

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Volunteer travel expenses are available on agreement with Shop Manager, we pay for public transport if the volunteer can commit to certain number of hours. Reimbursement is on production of the relevant travel ticket.
Training details: Good support and relevant training is provided-includes a taster session/shop visit and on going training and support.

Our shops are vital in helping us raise the funds needed to provide services such as community support services, specialist nurses, advice and information, education, and peer support. Join our fabulous team of Retail volunteers and learn new skills, make great friends, and make a real difference to people in Scotland who are isolated, scared, or anxious about their condition.
