Description

Help assist the leaders deliver a quality and fun learning opportunity for pre & school age children. We run sessions outdoors in urban woodlands and encourage children to play and get mucky. You would be helping observe & keep children safe whilst encouraging them to learn new skills. We encourage all staff to bring new activities for the children to try & we would encourage you to be as involved as you feel able to.

Organisation aims and objectives

To provide an outdoor based after school, run child led projects during the day and run projects for vulnerable groups through the day.

Restrictions

Experience required: None although an interest in childcare and being outside in all weathers is a bonus
Travel details: Scout Hall Woods, Aidans Brae, Clarkston Trains at Clarkston & Williamwood and bus stop close by on Mearns Road
Minimum age: 16

Expenses details: We will pay public transport costs when within a reasonable distance from our site
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: We would prefer if candidates came along for a few sessions before making their mind up
Training details: Volunteers would be shown around the site, asked to read the policies and guidelines currently in place. Volunteers are offered the same training opportunities as employed members of staff and invited to join any training we may have on. We are able to support volunteers who are considering undertaking a childcare qualification and could also assist with registering for relevant online training
