Befriender - Stonehouse area

  • VO64549

A befriender will be matched with an older person in their area that is isolated. They will spend time with them offering companionship to build their confidence and link them back into social activities.
We offer this through a befriending and a handyperson service. Many people in our community have very few visitors or people to go and see them so our volunteers spend time with someone in their local area in order to build up their confidence in getting out and about again. This may be having a coffee and getting to know each other at first and eventually linking into a group that runs locally that they can then get to independently in the future.
