Home Visiting Volunteer

  • VO63010

Description

Home- Start Stirling works with families who have at least one child under the age of five years who are experiencing stress or crisis within their daily life. Our home-visiting volunteers visit a family once a week for 2-3 hours to help the family with whatever they need. This can take the form of emotional and practical support and can involve helping a family to get out and about, playing with children, providing a listening ear or support to access different services. Home- visiting volunteers work with the same family until it is agreed that the support is no longer required.

Organisation aims and objectives

Home-Start is a local voluntary group which offers support, friendship and practical help to families with at least one child under 5 who are experiencing difficulties or suffering stress. Families are supported by home visiting volunteers who visit them on a regular basis.
