Description

Looking for someone to help out within the centre on a Caretaker basis, duties will include – cleaning the centre, preparing the hall for classes/training sessions. General handyman/DIY tasks such as simple repair and maintenance tasks, replacing lightbulbs, moving furniture, weeding, and other odd jobs as required.

Our overall mission is to potentially save lives by preventing and reducing violence and the fear of violence as well as empowering individuals to manage safer lives. Our objectives are to :- provide practical training and solutions to help people avoid violence and aggression. To raise awareness of the importance of personal safety in the community. To provide a point of contact for people at risk or secure advice.

Restrictions

Experience required: No experience required although an interest in DIY would be beneficial
Travel details: The Centre is on all the main bus routes ie no11, 12 and 585. It is also located close to 2 train stations within Ardrossan.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Come in for a chat, have a look around centre get a feel for the place
Training details: Volunteers could go through First Aid training, Health & Safety trainingand Fire policy training.
