Volunteers of the Forth Valley Sensory Centre garden will be required to:

-help to grow plants in the garden
-support FVSC users to get involved in growing in the garden
-help to maintain the garden so it is a nice place for people to use
-help to ensure the garden is a sensory place for everyone to use
-engage with other volunteers and FVSC users to ensure everything is looked after

The overall objective of FVSC is to help people with a sensory impairment to lead as independent a life as possible.

We are looking for volunteers with some gardening experience, who are reliable with good people skills. You will need to be patient and calm, with a positive attitude to people with a sensory impairment. You will be able to work with minimal supervision and be physically fit.

Forth Valley Sensory Centre is a place where people with a visual or hearing loss, their friends, families, carers and the wider community can access quality services and advice from our partner organisations. The Centre is inclusive, accessible and aims to promote the involvement of the wider community and build positive relationships across Forth Valley.

If you are not physically fit, this is likely not a good role to take on.
Experience required: Gardening experience is preferred. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be comfortable working with others, particularly those with sensory impairments.
Travel details: It will take place in the Sensory Garden which is based at Forth Valley Sensory Centre in Camelon. We are very accessible by public transport, and plenty of parking available if you are travelling by your own vehicle.

Expenses details: 40p per mile which is paid into your bank account.
Training details: All volunteers will attend induction training and have access to other training opportunities. All volunteers will be given regular support and supervision.
