Description

Volunteer drivers needed to transport patients from their homes to various hospitals for cancer treatments. Volunteering provides many benefits from meeting new people & gaining confidence to the satisfaction of knowing you are helping cancer patients in your own community. Service users benefit from having one less thing to worry about during treatment.

Restrictions

Must have clean driving licence and have a 4 door car with current MOT & Fully Comprehensive Insurance. Police Disclosure checks will require to be carried out.
Experience required: Volunteers should be physically fit & have a caring, empathetic personality. Non-smokers preferred.
Travel details: To and from hospital appointments at the Beatson Hospital, Glasgow, for cancer patients.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Mileage allowance will be paid fortnightly
Training details: Volunteer will shadow an existing driver initially. Induction training & support will be provided.
