ENeRGI are looking for keen, enthusiastic individuals interested in supporting those people who are at risk from social isolation and loneliness. Befriending can make a real difference to someone's life and can also be an incredible opportunity to enhance your own life, build new skills and meet new people. ENeRGI values the input of people with lived experience of mental health issues, bereavement, carers and any other factors relating isolation and loneliness. If you want to befriend and support people within your community, have a few hours per week or month to spare, full training, support and expenses will be given. ENeRGI will apply to the PVG scheme on behalf of the volunteer

Organisation aims and objectives

Provides support and information for people with mental health and/or substance misuse issues and their carers through a Drop-In Centre, Outreach and Housing Support Services, Anti-Poverty Initiative (Benefits Advice, clinics, outreach, home visits, shopping trips, emergency food parcels, cooking classes) and a Self Directed Support Project and working within the local community to raise awareness and tackle stigma.










2 - 6 hours monthly. no minimum commitment.


Experience required: No experience needed, just caring, patient, empathetic and understanding personality
Travel details: Takes place in the East Neuk of Fife, St Andrews and Levenmouth.
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Expenses are paid at a rate of 45p per mile and are normally paid monthly. However, arrangement can be made to pay expenses on a weekly basis.
Training details: ENeRGI have a full induction process, Inhouse training and can source other training should it be required.
