Description

PYT provides mentors for children and young people, but mentoring you can have a real impact on a young persons life, helping them achieve their full potential.

We work with local primary schools to identify young people who would benefit for working with a mentor. These are kids who are at risk of social isolation, mental health issues and may find the transition to High School more difficult than their peers. They are the kids who never raise their hands, have difficulty making friends and struggle to integrate socially. By working with a mentor we help them to build self-esteem and confidence, and develop strategies for dealing with the challenges that they face. We give our mentors full training and support them throughout the mentoring relationship. Our mentors work with the children from Primary 6 through to the end of S1.

Organisation aims and objectives
