Description

To work a regular 3 hour shift on the helpline, respond to helpline e-mails, provide a listening ear to helpline users, participate in quality monitoring by logging calls received, record service user feedback

Organisation aims and objectives

Pain Concern is a charity providing information and support to people with pain and those who care for them, whether family, friends or healthcare professionals. For over 7 million people in the UK living with persistent pain is a part of everyday life. Although there is usually no cure, people who receive the appropriate treatment, information and support can manage their condition effectively. We provide a quarterly magazine, Pain Matters, and that people can email subs@painconcern.org.uk, for a free trial subscription for a year.

Restrictions

Experience required: Friendly manner Ability to listen without being judgemental, be able to support others in time of difficulty, reliable and well organised, good I.T skills, ability to work on own or as part of a team.
Travel details: Travel expenses covered for training
Minimum age: 18

Support

Training details: Under go initial 12 week training in Pain Concern listening skills and pain management. commitment of 6 months after training
