Description

The main task is to teach/tutor a small group of adults whose first language is not English.

Volunteer Tutor training workshops take place regularly. A mentor will advise and support a new volunteer tutor.

Qualified or trainee teachers of any subject are welcome, ideal for someone with a TEFL certificate or degree who would like some teaching experience, but friendliness, patience & respect for other cultures are as important as qualifications.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Stirling School of English provides English tuition at all levels to small groups of non-English speakers. Training and support will be provided. Being, or having been a teacher is not necessary, as appropriate training will be given.
