Youth Work Volunteers

Description

Gain valuable experience in youth work by helping to plan and deliver fun youth work activities in a variety of settings and locations. Full training will be provided and no previous experience is necessary.

Through Volunteer Action Fund grant funding we have created several volunteering opportunities and we’re looking for volunteers to help us increase our services for young people throughout Tweeddale. Current opportunities include administration, fund raising and hands on activities with young people.

We currently offer a wide array of activities, including cooking (Food Punks), music (we have an in-house recording studio), bike recycling and maintenance workshop (Bike Punks), trips away, residential, casual drop-in sessions and many more including a new textile project about to start. We’re looking for volunteers that are happy to share their skills with us and the young people we seek to serve.

Organisation aims and objectives

Tweeddale Youth action has the lead role for the delivery of youth work services across Tweddale. The young people are encouraged to lead services with the support of youth workers, which allows for a stronger voice to have a say in decisions that can effect them.
